Dentures

Complete and partial dentures offer a great way to replace one or more missing teeth, serving as an excellent alternative to bridges or implants. There are two types of partial dentures: acrylic and cobalt chrome, while full dentures are only available in acrylic. These dentures are removable, meaning you take them out daily for cleaning, but they stay in your mouth throughout the day for regular activities like laughing, talking, eating, and drinking.

 Denture care and maintenance

Taking care of your dentures is crucial, and the team at ImpressiveSmiles will guide you on how to do it properly. Here are some general tips:

  •  Remove dentures every night before bed and place them in water to let your gums rest and keep the dentures hydrated.

  • When not in your mouth, soak dentures in a denture cleaning solution like polident tablets to remove stains and debris, keep them smelling fresh, and prevent future buildup.

  • Once a month or occasionally, soak dentures in plain white vinegar for 5-10 minutes. This helps maintain freshness, remove stains, and prevent buildup.

  • Clean dentures multiple times a day with unscented soapy water.

  • Remove dentures before brushing and flossing any remaining natural teeth.
